about

Recorded in a stony Ottawa basement by three friends in their early 20s, on a four track cassette and two microphones back in 1986. not perfect, but passionate and possibly more psychedelic fun than a head should be allowed to have.

Influences: Can, Chrome, Roxy Music

The only song to survive my self destruction to be digitized in 2007 from an old beat-up Sony Walkman.

lyrics

she hears the wind at her door / coming to take Caroline away /
love's ocean roars / just a crackle on her radio waves

credits

released September 24, 1986
neil mcclelland - soprano saxophone
stephen ayer - drums
davEy - radio, voice, guitar, synth

cheers to Neil and Stephen, without whom the track would not sail into the mystic nearly so seamlessly.

engineered and produced as lo-fi as it gets

about

davEy

davEy loved music more than anything, but when tragedy struck around 1990, he nearly destroyed all of his music, and himself.

very few songs remained as cassette mixes, and breath of the nightwind (reprise) the only extant tune by davEy, digitized in 2007.

The 2nd half of a longer song, BOTNW (reprise) matches intensity and brevity.
